A small thing, but it makes the job much more enjoyable and fun. I’ve spent a few years building a custom-designed computer for my department, using the skills provided by a computer engineer to design the next version of my productivity toolbox.
With this in mind, I decided to put together this list of my favorite computer architect jobs. I wanted to make sure that the jobs I mentioned were at least somewhat unique (and probably quite fun) so I didn’t include them on this list because they weren’t. Software architecture classes are an intensive and intense two-day course taught by some serious software architects, and that is something you should expect to pay good money for. You will also learn an enormous amount about how to design a software architecture. You will learn how to create systems that can be used by anyone, and that is something you should expect to pay good money for.
